Energy Transition 2020 Award Acceptance Speech at the 21st World LNG Summit Awards
18 December 2020
Virtual

Greetings from Singapore,

Governments and society tell us: build back better, build back greener. And as an industry, we have started to act decisively.

Therefore, it is a privilege and an honour for Pavilion Energy to be the first recipient of the World LNG Energy Transition Award 2020.

This will resonate well with the people of Pavilion Energy who have been working hard for our own transformation and for making a lasting impact on the LNG industry and market.

We believe in natural gas and LNG as a fuel that enables today the strategies to reach carbon peak tomorrow and then to achieve the objective of a net-zero world.

Accelerated decarbonisation is achievable by improving production and liquefaction environmental efficiency and by switching away from coal and oil to natural gas in generation and propulsion. Carbon offsets further enable neutralisation of residual GHG emissions. And over time, we expect hydrogen and biomethane to take a significant share of the market.

Pavilion Energy has pro-actively engaged into making Singapore the leading hub for LNG bunkering and is expending its network to facilitate the global offerings to ship-owners and charterers.

Pavilion Energy has proactively engaged into tendering for LNG term supplies with transparent measurements and reporting of GHG emissions alongside the value chain. We are humbled by the recent decision of QP to join us in this journey.

That will enable Pavilion Energy to invest in “green upstream projects” to generate carbon offsets and to develop Singapore as a marketplace for carbon price visibility and credit exchanges.

Thank you to DMG for the organisation of this event and award. Thank you to you all, colleagues of the industry, for selecting Pavilion Energy – however, we truly believe that the real winner is the industry for having put Energy Transition as our top priority.

Thank you.
