It’s been an exciting week at the 15th edition of the <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/singapore-international-energy-week-si…-?trk=public_post_share-update_update-text" data-tracking-control-name="public_post_share-update_update-text" data-tracking-will-navigate rel="nofollow">Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW)</a>.
With this year’s theme of ‘Securing a Resilient and Sustainable Energy Future’, <a href="https://sg.linkedin.com/in/alan-heng-50a055b?trk=public_post_share-upda…; data-tracking-control-name="public_post_share-update_update-text" data-tracking-will-navigate rel="nofollow">Alan Heng</a>, our Group CEO touched on the importance of managing the energy trilemma of security, affordability and sustainability during the 1st kick-off panel session of the Singapore Energy Summit.
He also discussed the role of <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/signup/cold-join?session_redirect=https%3A%2F%…; data-tracking-control-name="public_post_share-update_update-text" data-tracking-will-navigate rel="nofollow">#hydrogen</a> in the energy transition at the <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/spgci?trk=public_post_share-update_upd…; data-tracking-control-name="public_post_share-update_update-text" data-tracking-will-navigate rel="nofollow">S&P Global Commodity Insights</a>' 8th LNG and Hydrogen Gas Markets Conference.
Proud too that a model of our chartered newbuild LNG bunker vessel Brassavola was exhibited at the SIEW Energy Showcase. Brassavola, the largest LNG bunker vessel in Singapore when operational in early 2023, will support our shipping customers’ decarbonisation plans through the uptake of LNG as bunker fuel.
“The energy transition is not new; over the last 50 years we have transitioned from coal to fuel oil, to cleaner fuel oil, to low sulfur gasoil and gas, and to even cleaner forms of energy. There remains a strong place for gas into 2050 as it plays the vital role of generating base load power…and to overcome the intermittency challenges of renewables, governments and industries need to continue investing in the system of energy production, processing, storage and transportation that has served us well over the decades. We need to keep them resilient so we can push on to ensure a secure and successful energy transition…” – Alan Heng, Group CEO of Pavilion Energy
